The Rice Museum Patrons

The owners of Allston Bluff and Kensington developments located in Georgetown County, South Carolina are our first History Workshop Partners! Each owner made a donation to The Rice Museum in Georgetown to support an exhibit about Lowcountry plantations and plantation archaeology. We would like to recognize Berry Coggeshall and Scott Trotter of Allston Bluff and John Trotter, Scott Trotter, Carol Jayroe, and Phillip Lammonds of Kensington for their cooperation and support during this project. The Rice Museum exhibit opened their new exhibits to their patrons and guests during a celebration of their 35th anniversary on May 16th, 2005.

Land Resource Companies and Cumberland Harbour Development

After Brockington's archaeologists completed excavations at Point Peter, a War of 1812 fort at St. Marys, Georgia, the land owners graciously paid for a full scale exhibit at the Cumberland Island National Seashore Museum in St. Marys. In addition, they funded the development of a complete curriculum about the War of 1812, Point Peter, and the archaeology conducted at the site. It was presented to the appropriate Camden County schools free of charge. More information about this project is available on our Media page. Read more about this project in our Portfolio.

Boy Scout Troop 1134 of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, Roswell, GA

Five members of Boy Scout Troop 1134 earned their Archaeology Badge. First, they attended a full day excavation at the Coosawattie Foundation's Thompson Site in Gordon County, Georgia. Next, they designed and installed an exhibit about archaeology and what they had learned in their school library. Each boy prepared a narrative of his experience at the dig. The History Workshop helped by designing and printing the panels for the exhibit. These five young men worked hard to install the exhibit earning our praise and the name "Partners."
