Daniel Island is a unique planned community that contains a variety of archaeological sites. The History Workshop developed a history trail for one of the island's many public parks, highlighting the island's archaeological and historical heritage through a series of outdoor panels. The history trail tells visitors about Native Americans, archaeology, colonial history, plantations, slave life, tenant farmers, brick kilns, and the Guggenheims, the last landowners.
