FDR State Park
Pine Mountain, Georgia

Components: Interpretive Panels

The creation of Pine Mountain State Park (now FDR State Park) was a personal project for Franklin D. Roosevelt. Under Roosevelt’s close supervision, the Civilian Conservation Corps and the National Park Service created what became one of the most significant collaboration projects in the history of American parks.

Interpreting the creation of the park, the history of the CCC, and the intimate association with FDR is a multi-year project for the park and The History Workshop. An interactive interpretive exhibit is under way in the park visitor center, as well as a series of outdoor interpretive panels addressing the built environment throughout the park.
