Kolomoki State Park
Blakely, Georgia

Components: Outdoor Interpretive Panels

Kolomoki Mounds State Park, located in Blakely, Georgia, is one of the more significant mound sites in the southeastern United States. Earthen mounds within the park were built between 250-950 A.D. by Native American Indians. Included in this congregation of burial and ceremonial mounds is Georgia's oldest great temple mound.

This project included interpretive panels for the introduction to the park, eight mound sites, and the central plaza. The interpretation gives insight into archaeological methods used through time, occupation periods represented by each of the mounds, and various prehistoric activities that took place on the site.
