Components: Outdoor interpretive panels

Portrait Homes housing development located in Kennesaw, Georgia, embraced the inclusion of Civil War earthworks into their new neighborhood. This project included developing two interpretive panels for remnants of the easternmost portions of the Brushy Mountain Line, placed to defend Atlanta from General William T. Sherman and the Union Army. These outdoor panels present a brief history of the military action in the area and the important role of the landscape. In addition, the interpretation stresses the sensitivity of such rare cultural resources and the importance of stewardship.
