US Snagboat Montgomery

Pickensville, Alabama

Built in 1926 by the Charleston Dry Dock and Machine Company, the US Snagboat Montgomery served on seven of the South's rivers until 1982, when it was retired from service. The History Workshop designed an exhibit for the Montgomery and produced a video and an interactive kiosk for the nearby visitor center, as well as a coordinating education program with brochures and a Web site.
